How To Apply

Wayland Academy serves the community of Watton and the surrounding area. The majority of students join the Academy from local primary schools in September, and are admitted without reference to ability or aptitude.

How to Apply

As an Academy, we are committed to providing access to educational opportunity for young people within our catchment area. Applicants are welcome to apply through Norfolk County Council or directly through our Head of Admissions here at the Academy.

If there are more requests for places than places available, the Authority will admit children in the following order of priority:

  • Children with a statement of special educational need naming the school
  • Children in public care who are due to transfer and live in the area served by the school
  • Children who are due to transfer and live in the area served by the school
  • Children living within the area served by the school who are attending a middle school and are not due to transfer but wish to transfer at the end of Year 6 to an 11+ entry high school
  • Children who are due to transfer and live outside the area served by the school but who have an older brother or sister attending the school at the time of admission
  • Children who are due to transfer and live outside the area served by the school
  • Children living outside the area served by the school who are attending a middle school and are not due to transfer but wish to transfer at the end of Year 6 to an 11+ high school and who have an older brother or sister attending the school at the time of admission
  • Children living outside the area served by the school who are attending a middle school and are not due to transfer but wish to transfer at the end of Year 6 to an 11+ entry high school
