The Effects of Racism by Unity in diversity

On the 15th June Unity in diversity delivered a superb workshop to Year 9 students on The Effects of Racism. The workshop included, an exercise based on Jane Elliot’s, “A Class Divided” and a series of monologues featuring a young boy who has been the victim of racism and bullying. It focused on the boy at different points in his life and will show the psychological damage which can be caused by racism, prejudice and bullying. There was the opportunity to hot seat the character and have an open discussion.

We look forward to welcoming them back to work with Year 6 as part of 8 days of transition.
