We will be holding a “Success at GCSE Evening" for parents of Year 9 and Year 10 students who are now starting their GCSE courses on Thursday 22nd September 2016. The purpose of the evening is to discuss ways in which the Academy and parents, through working in close partnership, can help ensure your child fulfils their potential at GCSE.
For young people to succeed, you need to be as fully involved in the education of your child as possible. For this reason we very much hope you will attend the evening where we will introduce and give you opportunities to discuss issues such as GCSE exams, homework, personal organisation, motivating teenagers and the differences between boys’ and girls’ approaches to study. Some of last year’s Year 11 students will be present to answer your questions and give a young person’s perspective.
This meeting is not intended for students, it is specifically aimed at parents. The Principal, senior leaders and student support will all be involved in the evening.
The evening will start at 6pm and will last for about one hour. If you are able to attend please return the slip on the letter you should have recieved from your child or contact reception
