Principal's Welcome

Principals Welcome

A Welcome from the Principal

Welcome to Wayland Academy Norfolk, where you will find a welcoming and supportive learning community focused on doing all we can to support the success of our students.

With two consecutive years of record-breaking GCSE results, in 2016 and 2017, we are constantly striving to improve and ensure that the excellent progression of our students on to fantastic sixth form and further education opportunities continues.

As you can see from the graphics on the front entrance to the academy, our mission is to create learning that enables students to Innovate, Discover, Explore and Activate.  This is underpinned by our core value of Improving life chances through education.

This core value is supported by our Three C’s: Curriculum, Community and Communication.  At Wayland Academy we always strive to offer a unique personalised learning experience, where students of all abilities are catered for and where every student is expected to give their best every day and in every lesson.

My aim as principal is to develop students’ knowledge, skills and emotional intelligence so that they are best prepared for the wider world and life beyond Wayland Academy, whether that is on to university, straight into employment or on to an apprenticeship.

I want students to display a thirst for knowledge and understanding and develop a real love of learning. I passionately believe that we must develop students that can evolve and adjust to the changing times around them.

Students that progress from Wayland Academy will be able to rise to a challenge, deal with set-backs and draw upon a range of strategies to solve problems.

Wayland Academy continues to respond to the needs and ambitions of the people of this rural part of Norfolk. Above all else we seek to serve the young people and the wider members of this community, ensuring there is a real sense of purpose and aspiration.

Our door is always open, please contact us if you wish to visit the academy or have any questions regarding our community.

Regards,

Glen Allott
